Yippeee!!

I don’t know about your kids, but my kids are so fun to be with πŸ™‚

They can say the cutest things without even trying. Sometimes even the little things that they get upset about can bring a smile to my face, because it often highlights their innocence, which is the part of them that I just want to hold onto forever. Even watching my kids break out into a random dance or song, melts my heart❀️

I have to be real, though, and acknowledge that they can also bring on stress.

If you’re like me, though, you probably have days when you just don’t feel like smiling. I mean, children are emotional, irrational, and self-absorbed little humans, just as we all were when we were little lol. Caring for our little humans can be overwhelming. The pressure of it can sometimes make us lose sight of the fun of parenting.

In my previous post, 7 Ways to Overcome Mom Burnout, I share effective tips on how to tackle the common feeling of burnout that moms often feel. One of my most helpful tips, is to encourage moms to find creative ways to put a smile on your faces. If you’re like me, though, you probably have days when you just don’t feel like smiling. But guess what? The act of smiling, even when you don’t necessarily feel like it, can actually improve your mood.

I don’t have a mom joke but I do have a mom saying. “I was a perfect mom until I had kids”. Oh I was going to be like Heidi Klum and whatever we were eating, I’d grind it up and puree the meatloaf or roast chicken or lasagna..no jarred baby food for my infant on purees and no “kid” for for my young toddler lol. I wasn’t going to do nuggets or hot dogs or typical kid food. And…then I got a picky eater who wouldn’t eat! I had lots of preconceived notions of how I’d parent that’s for sure! These sayings were so cute and great to save for “those” days.

Oh my goodness! Yes, I can relate! I had all of the “I will never do that,” preconceived notions of motherhood. Then reality, a.k.a. the kids, threw all those ideas out the window πŸ˜‚
